The site suitability assessment identified areas for potential RE development taking into consideration the following variables: technical-physical, physical, environmental, and socio-economic. From these, RE potential areas were determined.

Site Suitability Mapping usually begins by designing a list of criteria or assumptions applicable per area. The criteria are then divided into input or factor criteria, which represent favorable characteristics for RE development, and exclusion or constraint criteria, which are restrictedly unsuitable zones for RE development to protect the environment and communities.
